Jackson Hole Ripper!
tannerflanportraits 001
My name is Tanner Flanagan and i was born in Boulder Colorado May 7th, 1984. I grew up ski racing in Summit County Colorado. I attended high school at Summit High School and college at Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs at which i studied ski business. After college i decided to push my limits in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I have been here for three years now, my first year here was the lowest snow year here in eight years, only 300 inches fell over the entire year! My next year the record was broken with 650 inches of snow falling over the season!!! last year was just great not too shallow, but not a record breaker either.

In my first weeks in Jackson i was looking for jobs in the paper and came across a gem. “ski tuner needed”, being just the job i had gone to school for i couldn’t resist, so i went over to Pepi Stiegler Sports and applied for the job, and i got it. Pepi’s must be the best shop in the world, a combination of people and products make this place unforgettable.

I ski for a colorado based company named RMU (Rocky Mountain Underground).

The Professor

A new ski company that is owned by riders and makes skis for riders. There is a lot of new things happening with them; clothing line, skateboard decks, and of course skis.

I have been though a mechanized ski guide course in Valdez Alaska, with 80 hours of class time and 80 hours of field time. This means i am a certified heli ski guide with avalanche level 2 training. For some time it has been my dream to ski down the steepest alaska faces with cameras pointing at me. This will help me get closer to that dream. I have also spent some time down in Argentina with the same heli company, H2O Heli Guides. Although I still do not work with dean and his crew I have spent plenty of time picking the brain of the owner who has a flawless safety record.

Wish me luck on my journey!
